This net is the perfect tool for brushy small-streams, where a 12-inch fish is a respectable prize, and where brookies may be the norm rather than the exception.
With its smaller stature, narrow mouth, and thin profile, this net stays out of the way as you work your way through brush. You'll be amazed at how light it is!
Contrary to our other nets, this nets handle is thin, and it has a “flat” feel in the hand. This is to reduce weight (the net weighs less than 3 ounces!), but we have also found that this smaller net requires less leverage to manoeuver in the water - thumb pressure on the flat side of the net is enough.
As with our other nets, this frame is 100 % bamboo, mixed blond and brown-tone cane, with nodes and power fibers plainly visible. Net weight is less than 3 ounces. The catch-and-release net is deep enough to hold fish once they are netted, but not so deep as to make unhooking and releasing them a chore. The frame is protected with 2 coats of polished gloss varnish.
This is a sweet little net that more than once has belied first impressions by handling “surprise” 15- and 16-inch fish teased out of small streams and spring creeks. In between such royal duties, it shows the good sense to stay out of the way (and out of the brush we so often encounter!) Walk all day with this net on your back, and never know it is there!
The net attaches to a lanyard via a , for security and good looks. The clip-on lanyard is provided with the net.
As an experiment, we have made this net with a sage-green catch-and-release bag, in addition to the more usual black bag. WE like the looks of the green bag, but you decide. Specify which color you would prefer when ordering. Imported
